The Challenge

In the competitive market of data storage solutions, every tactic counts. This company’s field marketing team wanted to kick off Q1 with a unique initiative to fill their sales team’s pipeline coast to coast.

The Idea

10 days before the New Year, Kapow partnered to create 35 custom running shoe events for customers and prospects in major cities across the U.S and Canada. The hook was to appeal to the New Year’s Resolution mindset and have prospects, “kick off the year with a healthy start.” Kapow delivered all events in just under a month.

The Event

Kapow’s partnerships with national retailers like Nike and Road Runner made for a seamless event experience. Having one point of contact to handle quotes, availability and all the logistical details allowed the data storage company to focus on the campaign, driving event attendance and connecting with their guests.

Attendees were given a gift card to use to shop for a pair of running shoes. The shoes, holiday party food and New Year’s resolutions provided a natural ice breaker for attendees and hosts. Unlike the traditional cocktail party, this event gave sales representatives a chance to connect with prospects over something personal, accelerating trusted relationships.

The Results

Despite the short turnaround, this Multi-Event Program was one of the most highly attended and highly rated events in the history of the company.
