This eerie destination is located in the forgotten basement tunnels that link to the old railroad station and historic Crowne Plaza San Marcos Hotel. The city's founder, Dr. AJ Chandler, used the space as an ostrich feather storage facility after WWI and it has recently been brought back to life, but designed to give guests a feeling of haunted nostalgia. Handcrafted ice, cocktails and cuisine is the name of the game here. Boasting comfortable leather booths and soft lighting, this watering hole is just the spot to get cozy with a cocktail. In true speakeasy fashion and without signs on a door, guests will arrive at The Ostrich and state the password before gaining entry. Warm appetizers will be on display from upstairs sister, Crust Simply Italian, for guests to nosh while they learn about two in-house cocktails form the knowledgeable mixologist. Guests will receive one cocktail prior to the lesson, and one to follow. Topped off with the historic vibes of this 100-year-old basement bar, a night spent at The Ostrich will be one to remember.
