Our 5 Favorite Back Bay Experiences

Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood is an ideal spot to host an event. Not only is the area historically and architecturally significant, but Back Bay is a cultural hub. With tons of stores, art galleries and top-notch restaurants, this trendy neighborhood is the perfect spot to entertain clients.

It’s also near a number of hotels, so if you’re entertaining out-of-town clients, they won’t need to travel far to get to your event. And although Kapow has more than 25 great event options in the Back Bay area, we’ve picked out our top five recommendations for you to check out.

Three-course dinner with a sommelier at Sonsie

Under award-winning chef Bill Poirier, Sonsie has delivered top-notch international cuisine with a European flair to Boston’s famous Newbury Street for over 24 years. Each course will be perfectly paired with a sommelier-selected wine pairing. The sommelier also will discuss how to properly pair food with wine. At the end of the evening, each guest will receive a complimentary engraved Sonsie wine glass to take home.

Clambake at Jasper White’s Summer Shack

Nothing says “summer in Boston” quite like a clambake. And when it comes to seafood, Summer Shack is the place to go. Summer Shack is celebrity chef and James Beard Award-winner, Jasper White’s, raw bar and seafood shack. It’s a relaxed venue with upbeat, beach decor and a friendly atmosphere. And if you’re looking for that beachy vibe with a little less food, check Kapow’s other event at Jasper White Summer Shack where your guests will learn how to mix Mai Tais

Shopping event at Marathon Sports

Named one of the 50 best running stores in America, Marathon Sports promises quality. With this in-store event, you’ll get food, drinks and gift cards for all your guests. Each guest will walk up and down the store and jog on the in-store treadmill, while an expert evaluates their gait to recommend shoes that fit perfectly. Guests will walk away with a new pair of shoes that will remind them of your great event.

Tea-blending event at L’Espalier

This event is one of our most unique in Boston. A 13-time-winner of the AAA Five Diamond awarded, L’Espalier has been a staple in the Boston dining scene since 1978. It has consistently been ranked on the top national and local best restaurant lists. At this event, guests will enjoy tea cocktails and tea sandwiches before learning how to blend their own tea. Guests can create their own custom tea at the blending station with help from the venue’s Tea Sommelier. We also love L’Espalier’s four-course dinner and cocktail reception.

Chocolate tasting at Max Brenner

While we love a good wine or whiskey tasting, a chocolate tasting seems like a no-brainer. When you arrive at a Max Brenner chocolate tasting, a large tasting table will be pre-set with various chocolates to try—you’ll taste from milk to dark and from snowies to sparkles. The knowledgeable team at Max Brenner will tell your group about different textures, tastes and even the production process of the chocolate. And if you’d like some sweets, but are watching your sugar intake, check out this dinner with chocolate beverages and desserts.
