Places to Eat Before Seeing Hamilton

The Hamilton craze has taken over the nation and the hit show is nearly sold out until September in both Chicago and New York. If you haven’t seen it yet, we’re willing to bet you have tickets or are scrambling to get them. For those of you lucky enough to have scored tickets, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite places to grab a pre-show dinner near the Richard Rogers Theatre and The PrivateBank Theatre. Check them out.

NYC

Aureole – The Michelin-starred restaurant is the flagship showcase for celebrity chef, Charlie Palmer. His award-winning signature Progressive American cuisine is sure to impress, and the speedy service makes it the perfect pre-show spot.

the-timeThe TIME Hotel – A destination for the creative class, the newly renovated TIME Hotel draws inspiration from its talented neighbors in the worlds of music, theater and multimedia. And with several dining options, you’re sure to find something delicious.

Bourbon Street – Get a feel for New Orleans right on Restaurant Row. The traditional, Southern food, fresh drinks and festive decor will make you feel like you’re in the French Quarter.

The Attic – If you’re not into the Cajun cuisine of Bourbon Street, check out the Wtenderest Coast-themed rooftop lounge, The Attic. You can enjoy incredible views while sipping cocktails and chowing down.

Tender Steak & Sushi – If upscale dining is what you’re looking for, then Tender Steak & Sushi is the place to go. Specializing in prime, exceptionally prepared cuts of steak and fish, Tender’s menu is second to none.

HB Burger & Bar – Named “One of the 25 Best Burgers in Midtown” by Eater, this classic microbrewery and pub-style joint in the heart of Times Square is perfect for grabbing a beer and a pre-show meal.

Chicago

Boleo – Located on the 15th floor rooftop of the new Kimpton Gray hotel, Boleo is inspired by Argentinean and Peruvian street food. Combining festive Latin American cocktail bar culture and modern style, Boleo is Chicago’s new hot spot.

pearl_tavern_2Pearl Tavern – Known for its fresh oysters and fantastic seafood, Pearl Tavern is the perfect spot for a pre-show dinner. The ambiance and décor of the vintage building combined with the newer modern touches offer a unique charm to the Chicago hot spot.

Vol. 39 – Located in the same building as Boleo, this upscale venue is the perfect spot for wine, champagne and caviar. The elegant, library-like atmosphere will make everyone feel like VIPs.

Le Pain Quotidien – Known for their baked goods and phenomenal selection of French fare, Le Pain Quotidien is lpqsure to appeal to everyone in your group. The rustic and chic ambiance is made complete with overhead string lights and large wood communal tables.

Virgin Hotels – Steps away from the Magnificent Mile, the Virgin Hotel’s unapologetic style and image leave a lasting impression on even the most well traveled of guests. We love the modern casual fare at Miss Ricky’s.
