The PBS Web Production Manual is an extranet for all producers who
are creating content that will reside on the PBS.org website. It provides extensive guidelines and tutorials for what kind of content can be shown, as well as the technical specifications for creating the sites. kapowís challenge was to come up with an interface that would allow
the different types of content producers coming to the site to choose to see only the information that pertains to their own work. The site uses XML to store the content for the policies and tutorials so that the information can be easily updated and sorted by category. Site features include: |
An extensive and updateable list of policies and specifications, that can be sorted by audience, expertise and deliverable.
A Key Deliverables section that provides tutorials for all the project deliverables.
A Production Schedule that can be personalized to the date a specific project is due.
A My Checklist area, giving each individual an area where they can keep track of all of the policies that pertain to each project with which theyíre involved.
An extensive Search and Index area, which allows users to browse through the siteís content alphabetically.
