The next day Kravitz and I showed up at the storage place, and Yamato handed Kravitz two grand in twenties. I don't think Kravitz ever held that kind of money all at one time in his entire life. He spent the afternoon buying Tecates at La Cabanita for everyone from the boat. After that, he still had some money to burn, so he threw us all a little party that was still going strong around midnight.
And that's when things started going wrong. Just after midnight, the Federales showed up. We thought they were there to shut down the party, but they went straight for Kravitz and hauled him off to jail. I went over with him and insisted that the authorities tell me what was going on. They said they'd inspected a large fish Eddie Yamato had been off-loading from a truck at the airport. They found two kilos of cocaine stashed inside the fish. When they confronted Eddie with it, he said he knew nothing--he'd only just bought the fish from Kravitz. So they locked up Kravitz and charged him for conspiring to smuggle drugs in a fish. I think the exact words were "transito illicito de droga a dentro de un pescado". They'd locked up Eddie too, but apparently he'd been released after paying the $10,000 bail. Kravitz doesn't have that kind of money.

Obviously Kravitz didn't put the drugs in there. Hell, if he's anything like he was when we were in the army, he wouldn't even know the stuff if he tripped over it.
Anyway, I'm not too sure how I'll do it, but I told him I'd somehow get to the bottom of this and get him out of jail.
I hope it won't take too long. I'll head straight home as soon as I have him free. Te amo.
