Mace and Alvin went to the kidnappers' house disguised as gardeners. Peering in a window of the garage, Mace saw Sylvia and two kidnappers. After Alvin picked the lock, he and Mace drew their guns and flung open the garage door. The startled kidnappers jumped up from the card game they were playing with Sylvia and surrendered. Sylvia hugged Mace, happy to be free. Back at home, Mace called Navy Blue at The Chronicle and told her he would give her all the information she'd need to run the story about the Caul board meeting.
