The alarm clock woke me up at 8:30. I had made a 9:30 appointment at the County Hall of Records to do a background check on Fun Toy Company so I took a quick shower and rushed out the door.
The Hall of Records got me nowhere. The files on FTC showed it had a solid history of paying its taxes on time, only one employee involved in an accident on site, and not a single complaint filed against it by a disgruntled customer in the 20 years since Harmia had taken over the company. Empty handed, I wandered over to the Central Library to see what I could unearth there. Everything I read said that, aside from the run-in ten years ago with the Employment Commission, FTC was a clean, honest business. One article from Labor Today cited FTC as being one of the top twenty employee-friendly privately-owned businesses in Southern California. |
