At the Santa Monica Pier, a vendor recognized Kylie's photo and told Mace that she had seen her handing out flyers, "same as that kid over there." Mace took one of the flyers which promoted a website called The Sanctuary. A bum told Mace that he had seen Kylie drive away with some guy in a red Camaro. The bum gave Mace a piece of paper on which he'd written the car's license plate.

Back at his office, Mace enlisted the help of his computer-savvy friend, Tommy, to learn how to use the Internet. With his newly-gained knowledge, Mace accessed The Sanctuary site: http://www.raygun.com/sanctuary.
