More About Maria Burton

Mariaís first feature film, the romantic comedy, JUST FRIENDS, is currently in post-production at Warner Brothers. Maria graduated from Yale University with degree in theater and film making. In her four years at Yale, Maria directed plays as well as short films. A play she co-wrote and directed, THE LITANY OF THE CLOTHES, was chosen for the prestigious Yale Dramat main stage, and was then selected for production at the Harvard Loeb Theater. It went on to win first prize of the Earth Daughtersí play writing contest and was produced by Lorna Hillsí UJIMA Company in Buffalo, New York. In Los Angeles, Maria has produced and/or directed numerous theater shows, including THE STONEWATER RAPTURE, 10 X 10 BY PINTAURO, and the acclaimed and long-running AÖMY NAME IS ALICE. She has directed and performed in THE BUFFALO GALS, which has toured all over the world, including China, Thailand, Malaysia, France, and the United States. Additionally, Maria has worked for the Sundance Film Festival since 1985.
